The Sitter Experience

Sitter sessions are a baby-only session that typically takes place on weekday morning at my studio in Canton, Connecticut. The best time to schedule your session is around the six-month mark and I will reach out to you to confirm that your child is confidently sitting around the date we choose. It’s a fine line between when your little one starts sitting and stranger danger kicks in! The best part? You don’t need to provide a thing - outfits, props, I’ve got it all!

Sitter sessions tend to work best between 6-8 months, before stranger danger sets in. This obviously varies for all children, but is a good rule of thumb.

How do we pick a date if I don’t know when my child will be sitting?

I encourage parents to put a signed contract and retainer in around the six month mark. That way, you will be on my calendar and then I’ll let you know what signs to look for when your child is likely in that sweet spot before crawling. This varies for all children and can be between 6-10 months.

Do I need to bring anything to this session?

Not a thing! I have outfits available for you, so you are all set. If you want to bring a special item from home, you are absolutely welcome to do that.

Why are sitter sessions so special?

Why are sitter sessions so special?

Confession: the only session I didn’t book for my daughters was a sitter session and I can’t express how much I regret not doing it! A sitter session is such a special time because your baby still has those big, gummy smiles and typically, stranger danger hasn’t kicked in yet. Your little one is mostly stationary (which isn’t always the case at the cake smash) and it’s the best time for detail shots to remember this age by.

"We loved how simple and stress-free our son’s cake smash session was—we didn't need to worry about props or set-up.

"Sharon is the absolute best! We worked with her for our maternity photos, newborn photos, and our cake smash one-year-old photos. Each time, Sharon is so professional and friendly, makes us feel right at home, and take the most beautiful photos. We are blown away every time! The client closet is awesome and Sharon really went the extra mile to find gowns that complimented me.
