There’s nothing better than watching a family grow in front of my lens—and this sweet family is the perfect example. I first met them in 2020 when their original newborn photographer came down with Covid, and they trusted me to step in and capture their daughter’s newborn portraits. Now, several years and many milestones later, I’m honored to be photographing their growing family once again—this time, for their newborn son’s CT newborn studio session.
It means so much to be part of a family’s journey year after year, and this session was a beautiful mix of nostalgia, sibling sweetness, and modern simplicity.
A Thoughtfully Designed Session with Sentimental Touches
This family came into the studio with a clear vision. They didn’t need the Client Closet this time—they opted for a more relaxed, casual look that reflected who they are as a family, and honestly, I loved it. My goal is always to make my clients feel like themselves. You’ll never be pressured to choose one approach over another. Some families love to dress up using my Client Closet; others feel best in their own pieces. It’s all about what feels right to you.
The session took place in my studio in Canton, Connecticut, and the mom selected colors and props that matched the nursery she had lovingly designed. The result was a cohesive, beautiful look that tied everything together in a way that felt so personal.

A Color Palette That Keeps On Giving
Neutrals like light green, taupe, and white were the stars of this CT newborn studio session, and they’ve become one of my all-time favorite combinations for newborn portraits. Not only are these tones calming and timeless, but they also blend seamlessly into home décor—which makes displaying your prints and albums so easy.
One of the smartest things this mom did was build her baby’s milestone sessions around this palette. When you start with a color story you love, it’s easy to carry it throughout baby’s first year. From newborn to sitter to cake smash, this approach gives you a cohesive, magazine-worthy collection of images that your children will love flipping through as they grow.

The Magic of Big Sister Moments
Let’s be honest: newborn sessions with toddlers can be unpredictable! But this big sister? She nailed it. She was sweet, cooperative, and full of personality. Not to mention, her love for her new baby brother was so heartwarming to witness. She knew her role and embraced it with such joy, giving us truly magical sibling shots.
Flexibility and patience are key when photographing toddlers during a CT newborn studio session. I always prioritize safety, comfort, and authenticity over perfection. It’s never about getting a stiff, posed photo. Instead, it’s about capturing real moments of connection that your family will cherish forever.

Building Relationships Through the First Year Collection
This family is part of my First Year Collection. This means I’ll get to see them again for baby brother’s sitter session and cake smash—cue the happy tears! I always encourage families to think long-term when choosing a newborn photographer. You’re not just booking one session—you’re investing in a relationship. And not only that, but these images are going to be meaningful to you.
If you’re looking for the best newborn photographer in Canton CT, look for someone who wants to grow with your family and will make each session feel personal and effortless. That’s always my goal.
Why a CT Newborn Studio Session Might Be Right for You
Studio newborn sessions offer a relaxed, consistent, and weather-proof environment for capturing your baby’s earliest days. Here’s why so many families choose a CT newborn studio session:
1. Everything Is Ready for You
My studio is designed with families in mind. From soft lighting to cozy props and a flexible shooting schedule that accounts for feeding and snuggles—you can simply show up and focus on your baby.
2. Siblings Feel Comfortable
Big brothers and sisters often feel more at ease in the studio where they have room to play, explore, and jump in for portraits when the moment is right.
3. Timeless Results
With neutral backgrounds and clean, natural light, your photos won’t be tied to trends—they’ll be timeless heirlooms you’ll treasure forever.

Whether you want to use the Client Closet, wear your favorite lounge dress, or match the session to your nursery décor, I’m here to make it happen. Every family’s story is unique, and your session should reflect that.
