As a Connecticut newborn photographer, I get inquiries in a variety of different ways. In this client’s case, the grandmother reached out to me to book a CT newborn session for her expecting daughter. As we were chatting, I began to put together details that she told me over the phone. All of a sudden, I asked if her daughter lived on the same road that I live on. And, she did! What a small world! This mom had a very challenging pregnancy and wanted to showcase that in her newborn session. We did a lot of coordinating before the session to clarify her vision. Then her mom came along to help bring the vision to life that day.
Before their session, the mom sent me ideas for what they wanted to wear to their newborn session. I love that she chose looks that were timeless, classic and neutral. That way, you’ll never regret it! It also puts the focus on the baby and the family, which is so important to me as a Connecticut newborn photographer.
Connecticut Newborn Photographer: Baby Girl Session
When the family arrived at the studio, we started with sibling photos first. This is so important to do at the beginning of the session, while everyone is feeling fresh. After sibling pictures were done, we captured family photos for this new family of four. Then it was time to do individual pictures of the baby on her own. Again, the mom wanted to showcase the condition she had during pregnancy that made her extremely ill. She had kept all of the syringes she had used throughout the pregnancy. Between the grandmother, the mom, myself and her sister-in-law, we made a perfect set.
Newborn Session: Final Notes
The baby girl was so good and we were able to get through the entire session very quickly. I was impressed because it isn’t always easy when you add in a sibling and special images that require extensive prop set up. But I was so happy that we were able to make all of this happen for this very special family.
